I love this author. Its all about faith in Our Lord and Savior. Wing Kam Liu has been Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University since 1988. He is also Director of the NSF Summer Institute on Nano Mechanics and Materials. His research interests here include concurrent and hierarchical bridging scale methods for computational mechanics, in particular nano-mechanics and materials, and multi-scale analysis. He is an experienced author, having authored/co-authored over 100 published articles and the book Meshfree Particle Methods (Springer-Verlag, 2004) with Shaofan Li. He is the US Editor of the International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (Springer) and has also worked as a consultant to a number of international companies and organizations.

Filled and emptied, again and again...

I work in a library where I snatched this book off the new books display two summers ago. I have since bought a copy for myself, numerous copies for friends, and I regularly display it in the staff picks section. I am now re-reading it for the third time, and its hard to know where to start my praise: the writing is extremely frank, yet gentle, and shockingly sparse for the subject matter. I was immediately drawn to the short, saturated sentences, and I like the style, reminiscent of the way Hansel & Gretel left crumbs to find their way home through the forest when they wandered far. I found each short sentence so compelling I could not stop reading, could not stop anticipating the next sentence, could not stop my eyes from finding where the bits of bread would lead me. The content is lofty; the depth reflective of the challenges faced by humanity in the modern age. I especially like the short, succinct sections, which are followed by personal growth questions and an affirmation. The book feels both manageable, and, as one reads along, astounding. I cannot recommend it highly enough as one of the best books I have ever read. Life-changing.

"Grace Lost and Found" is an excellent addition to any psychology or self-help collection.
